This FREE, experiential workshop is part of the University College London “Embodied Psychotherapies” series. From 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm UK time, we will explore how mindful awareness and the body’s innate intelligence can open pathways to transformation in psychotherapy. Through guided experiential practice, demonstration, and discussion, Julia will introduce key Hakomi concepts, like loving presence, mindfulness, the study of present-moment experience, and the experimental attitude, as ways of accessing the unconscious and supporting deep transformation.
Hakomi invites both therapist and client into a state of mindful curiosity, where the body becomes a living doorway to emotion, memory, and meaning. Rather than seeking to analyze or fix, the work unfolds through attuned relationship and exploration, creating the conditions for organic change to emerge from within. This session offers a felt sense of Hakomi’s unique blend of gentleness, depth, and embodied mindfulness in therapeutic practice.
