ABOUT
Love is the cornerstone of my life, my somatic psychotherapy practice, and my teaching.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy from Appalachian State University, however…
I’m pretty much obsessed with all things somatic. I’m a Certified Hakomi Therapist and a Certified Trainer for Hakomi Institute. I’m involved with Hakomi trainings in North Carolina, USA and Mallorca, Spain, much of which has been on Zoom since COVID. I’m also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
I also co-facilitate Passion and Presence® Couples Retreats, and workshops in Right Use of Power– ethics training in combining power with heart.
After finishing undergrad in psychology at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1998, I headed straight to massage school. I am still a North Carolina Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (#2123), although I no longer offer massage therapy. Over the years, I’ve also studied Gentle Bio-Energetics, Reiki (Level 2), EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), Reflexology, Hot Stone Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy (American Version), Meditation, Continuum, Yoga, Pilates, and studied as well as taught Spa Therapies and basic Tribal Style Bellydance. I see psychotherapy as a healing art.

I have always been interested in new and different ways of living, being and perceiving.
Since I was a little girl (my pronouns are she/her/hers) I’ve been fascinated by the magical, the mystical, the sacred. I feel most at home when I’m out in nature. I view my work not only as a profession, but also as a path. Part of this is my commitment to deepening my understanding of what it is to be human, and to be alive, and to become liberated from suffering like pain, shame, and judgement and embrace feeling loved and supported by oneself and life itself.
Right now, I am diving deeper into self-care and self-exploration through meditation, movement, furthering my studies and stepping into being a whole-hearted educator. I’m curious about what nourishes me on every level, and I’m slowly learning to rest and receive as much as I do and give. I’m inquiring into becoming more clear, present, kind, and resilient, knowing what I want and going for it as well as defining clear boundaries. I’m a firm believer in the transformative power of pleasure, beauty, eroticism, mindful awareness, silence, rest, relaxation, water, kindness, time in nature, letting go of what’s no longer needed, belly laughs, and a good cry. I find great delight in the reverent and the irreverent.
In my own journey towards full human-beingness, I’ve found body-centered, energy-based, and spiritual forms of healing to be essential. Stillness and movement have also been key. I’ve learned about the modalities I offer from the inside out. I am committed to “doing the work,” or as I am beginning to understand it after years of “doing the work,” I’m committed to letting go of who and what I think I am, so my embodied, natural, radiant self can continue to emerge and be of service in the world.
I’d be delighted to help you do the same, or something even better.
All kinds of people are welcome in my practice, which is:
Trauma-Sensitive
Social Justice Informed
Sex-Positive
LGBTQIA2S+ Affirming
Poly & ENM Friendly
