Thank you for your interest. I am currently not accepting new clients due to a full schedule.
I am no longer adding to my waitlist due to limited openings and high demand. Feel free to use my contact form to tell me a bit about yourself and what you’re looking for in therapy. If I get an opening, I will look over recent submissions to see if there’s a match; however, I will no longer be available to respond to each request.
Many of the therapists I usually refer to are not accepting new clients, so I recommend searching the Psychology Today therapist directory. Put in your city or zip, then on the next screen, select what you seek in a therapist in the left-hand column. Most therapists are listed on there, but not all (for example, me). Some will note that their practice is full, and some do not, so it may take a little persistence.
If you need more affordable care and do not have health insurance or have inadequate mental health coverage, please try Open Path Collective, a network of therapists offering reduced fee care at a rate of $30-$60 for 60 minutes for individual therapy or $30-$80 per session for couples therapy.

Hours

Typical office hours are Monday – Thursday, including sessions via secure videoconference. If you live outside of North Carolina, I will need some time to check your local laws regarding telehealth and may or may not be able to work with you via videoconference depending on your state or country’s laws. I am registered as an out-of-state telehealth provider with the state of Florida– click here for more information.

Fees

My current rate (2024) is $165 for 60 minutes.
Beginning January 1st of each year, my rate will increase by $5 an hour, with the exception of Open Path clients.

I see a limited number of clients through Open Path Collective ($40-$70 for 60 minutes for individual therapy or $40-$80 per session for couples therapy). If you are interested in this, please check my profile page on the Open Path site to see if I have an opening and to find details on accessing their network of therapists offering sessions for their reduced fees.

I am not in-network with insurance companies and I do not file insurance claims for clients, but I will email you a receipt each month that you can send to your insurance company or FSA administrator. Reimbursement is dependent on your plan and is not something I have influence over. If you choose to file with insurance, please note that I will have to diagnose you.

Cash, checks and all major credit and debit cards, including FSA and HSA cards, are accepted.

Before scheduling your first appointment

After scheduling your first appointment

When you schedule your first session, you will receive a link to access my secure client portal where you will fill out my intake materials and can view and request future appointment times at your convenience. We will also discuss scheduling when we meet.

Lateness and Last Minute Cancellation/Missed Appointment Policy

Our session begins at your appointment time.
If you will be arriving late, please call me at 919-885-4858 to let me know when to expect you.
If you call within 15 minutes of your appointment time to let me know you are running late our time together will be shorter, but I’d always prefer that you arrive late than not at all.
If I have not heard from you by 15 minutes after the start of your session time, we may need to reschedule for another day and my full fee will be charged for a missed appointment.
My full fee is required for no-shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance.
As a courtesy to you, my scheduling system sends a confirmation email when you make your appointment, and a reminder email about 48 hours before your appointment time.
Please note that if you do not receive these reminders due to technical issues on your end or mine, you are still responsible for payment if you do not attend your appointment.
